I got to speak on stage last week!
Hey there, how are you?
The sun is out, flowers are starting to appear in my garden, the days are getting longer, and I don't need to wear more than a t-shirt. So I'm happy!
And I just had a big breakthrough... I spoke on stage!

Now some of you will assume I'd already done this, and some won't think this is a big deal for me, but it was.
When I sit in front of my teleprompter and deliver a webinar or run a masterclass I feel safe. I have a script and notes around me and worse case I can pull the plug, blame it on the internet, and hide!! 🤣 Not on stage.
For the last couple of weeks this has been all I could think worry about. Not good. I even said to Rach 'don't ever let me do this again!', and I was serious.
... and then the day came, I actually really enjoyed it, got some great feedback, and guess what... I want to do it again! 🤣
Some of you will immediately think of opportunities that you have and you've been putting them off due to fear.
I was talking to a client yesterday who told me he's been putting off creating content because he lacks the confidence to hit record. He's fine presenting live but talking into his camera feels scary.
What is it for you?
I knew I had to push myself. I want to get seen as a video performance coach in the UK and that's going to involve pushing myself onto a bigger stage, excuse the pun, and it's already proved to be worth the pain.
I challenge you to do something in your business that feels scary but you know it will help you get to the next level, and why not reply to tell me what that is.
Ok, so what's been going on...

Finding my sweet spot
I'm heading out in a few days to do another studio build, this time in the UK and I'm so excited about it! I think I've found the thing that brings me the most satisfaction.
Why? Well, while I love working with my IMPACT customers online, in our groups, it's so frustrating not being able to just be there, doing it for them, and I know that in an ideal world, my customers would love me to do that too! But many aren't in a position to justify the cost, and I totally get that. But when clients come to me and say 'Can you come and do this for me?' I'll take that any day of the week!
Owen is coming with me to record our first 'studio build' video that will hopefully be live before our next newsletter.
If you're interested in an in person studio build or know of someone who might be, please hit reply and let's talk.
Amaran just changed their lighting range
I mentioned this last month but hadn't actually seen or played with Amaran's new lights, but now I have and I am really impressed.
I'll be making a review video in the next week or two but the headlines are that they have massively reduced the physical size of the lights, they are more accurate, and they are cheaper! Yes, you heard that right. The old Amaron 100XS was around $250 the new Amaran Halo 100x is $169! And actually, most of you could get away with the 60x and that's only $119, seriously, in a world where costs are ever increasing, it blows my mind that we can get such high quality lighting at these ridiculous prices.
I've put them in a B&H Wishlist, click here to check them out!

Hey, Owen here!
TubeFest
Last week Adrian and I went to TubeFest in Birmingham (UK) and had a great time getting to know other creators and hearing from the speakers.
For me, one of the biggest talks was by Charles Kerr from YouTube who was talking mainly about the increase in viewers watching YouTube on TV with 1 billion hours watched daily on TVs, how crazy is that!
Because of this YouTube is also seeing an increase in views on longer videos up to an hour as people are now putting a long video on in the background in the same way they would a TV show.
4k Thumbnails
Because of the increase in TV viewers, YouTube is now recommending that creators use 4k thumbnails to look better on the screen and has actually increased the thumbnail file size limit from 2MB to 50MB to allow for this.
So when you are making your thumbnails, make sure you set your project to 3840x2160 as opposed to the previous recommendations of 1280x720.
Ask Button
In other news, YouTube are still pushing out the 'Ask' button on videos where ai can summarise the video and you can ask questions about the content. I think this could either be great for education channels if YouTube treats this as a form of engagement or could be a disaster if not as it allows your viewer to click on your video, summarise it and ask questions without even watching a second of your video. Let me know what you think.
Dynamic Sponsored Segments
Then to end the YouTube news on a high we have dynamic sponsored segments. This feature will allow creators in the partner program to select a point in their video and add sponsored segments rather than baking it into the video itself, meaning that at any point you can remove the segment or more impressively, change it for a new sponsor.
This I believe, will change the way sponsorships work on YouTube by allowing creators to move to recurring deals working over a period of time rather than a single payment on release and allowing them to approach sponsors with videos that are already performing and finding an audience.
Now back to Adrian...

Creator Camp UK
We've been talking about this for weeks, and here's a photo of us all at the event last week.

It's so lovely to meet people in person rather than online. That was definitely the highlight for me.

I haven't said much about Kajabi for the past few months as we haven't really been promoting it. I've intentionally been staying in my lane and focusing on the studio builds, and Owen has focused on YouTube.
But when Kajabi introduce a 50% OFF promotion, I'm obviously going to share it with you!
When you sign up through our affiliate link, you not only get our 28-Day Kickstarter training that will help you build your first lead magnet, but you get to join our community, with monthly live hangouts, and stay at no cost for as long as you stay on Kajabi! That means me in your corner, guiding you as you build your online lifestyle business.
The promotion doesn't start until May 15th, I just wanted to give you a heads up and we'll be emailing out nearer the time.
Well… I think that’s another month wrapped up.
These newsletters are never easy to keep short, but I always appreciate the feedback you send through, so thank you.
As ever, if we can help in any way, just hit reply.
See you next month,
Adrian & Owen Salisbury
