“I didn’t know that was there!”
Hi friends,
I’m back in Cyprus working remotely for the month, but this weekend we’re taking a little break and heading across to Ayia Napa for a long weekend. One of the highlights will be diving MUSAN, a museum of underwater sculptures hidden just beneath the surface of the sea.

From the shore, you’d never know it was there. You have to look beneath the surface, maybe take a bit of a risk, and that’s when everything changes.
That exact phrase came up again this week on one of our Kajabi Academy hangouts. Someone spotted a feature inside Kajabi Communities and said:
“I didn't know that was there!”
And it struck me… that’s what I love about doing this newsletter.
Whether it’s a tool, setting, or video tip — there are so many features quietly working in the background that can make a big difference… if only you knew they existed.
So here are a few “I didn’t know that was there!” updates from YouTube, Ecamm, Kajabi, and beyond.

“I didn’t know you could do that with thumbnails”
✅ Test & Compare Thumbnails
On YouTube, you can upload up to three thumbnails per video, and YouTube will automatically test which one gets the most clicks.
This is one of the easiest ways to boost views — and most people don’t realise it exists.
👉 Do you test your thumbnails? It’s essential if you want to grow on YouTube — and something we’re always talking about inside the YouTube Marketers Community.
✅ Community Tab = Posts
It’s been renamed, but it’s the same powerful feature — now simply called Posts. You can share polls, updates, behind-the-scenes content, and images right into your subscribers’ feeds.
If you haven’t used it in a while (or ever), give it another look.
✅ Viewer Segments Panel
YouTube Studio now shows how many of your viewers are New, Casual, or Returning.
A super helpful addition for spotting what’s working — and who’s sticking around.

“I didn’t know that button was there!”
v4.4.6 is still the latest release (from late June), but it added one great little touch:
👉 You can now include today’s date in your countdown overlays.
Plus, there were a few behind-the-scenes improvements to Zoom integration and Interview Mode that make things feel smoother all around.
Even if there’s no flashy headline feature this month, these kinds of updates quietly improve your workflow. And if you’re using Ecamm regularly, it’s always worth checking what’s new — you might spot a new favourite feature.
💬 Actually, I’d love to hear from you — what’s a little feature in Ecamm that gave you a “lightbulb moment”?
What do you always find yourself telling others about? 🤗
🚀 Not on Ecamm yet?
If you’re a Mac user and not using Ecamm to record your videos… you’re missing out.

“I didn’t know you could do that inside a Community!”
💬 On a recent hangout, someone discovered the new sidebar feature inside Kajabi Communities and said:
“I never knew that was there!”
This new panel lets you add custom links, buttons, or CTAs to the right-hand side of your community — perfect for highlighting other products, events, or resources your members might otherwise miss.

💸 Affiliate Center Overhaul
Have you ever used Kajabi’s affiliate feature to encourage people to share your products or services? It’s a great way to grow your reach — and Kajabi just gave the dashboard a major refresh.
🎥 I recommend watching this tutorial from Kajabi and giving it a try.
How much commission should you offer?
That depends on how involved you’ll be with the new customer:
-
If your program includes hands-on support, I’d suggest something like 25% (that’s what I offer).
-
If it’s a self-paced course with no input from you, you could go as high as 50% — that’s a strong incentive for someone to promote it, and 50% is still better than no sale at all, right?
💬 What are your thoughts on this? Do you use affiliates?
🚪 Course Paywalls Are Live
Still a fresh release — you can now offer free previews of your course, then lock the rest behind a paywall.
Perfect for lead magnets or giving people a taste before they commit.
📚 Bonus: Free Kajabi Course Now on YouTube!
I’ve finally finished uploading my full Beginner’s Guide to Kajabi — and it’s now live as a completely free YouTube playlist.
Whether you’re new to Kajabi or just want a refresher, this course walks you through the platform step by step.
🎯 Be sure to subscribe if you want more Kajabi tutorials — there's more on the way!

✅ The Studio Light That Replaces a Softbox
Most people don’t realise you can now get the soft, flattering light of a bulky softbox… from a panel as thin as your iPhone.
This new light completely surprised me — and it's quickly become one of my favourite upgrades. A couple of viewers summed it up perfectly:
“I bought this and could not be happier. Love it.”
“Just got one. Loving it!”
If you're trying to simplify your setup without sacrificing quality, or are restricted by space, this is one to watch.

✅ A Budget Teleprompter You’ve Probably Never Heard Of
If you’ve been looking at the Elgato Prompter but not loving the price, this new budget-friendly alternative might surprise you.
I put it through its paces in this review, and it’s a seriously good option — especially if you’re just getting started or need a second setup.
📌 And… keep an eye out! A side-by-side comparison with the Elgato is coming very soon. 🤫

That’s it for this month!
If even one of these updates or videos made you say “I didn’t know that was a thing!”, then I’ve done my job.
I’m off to Ayia Napa now for that long weekend I mentioned — and I’ll share a few photos from the dive over on Instagram afterwards if you're curious.
